David Vidal

David Vidal is a singer-songwriter from Menorca (1974). In 2001 he recorded his first album ‘Argila’ [‘Clay’], starting the ‘Trilogia de la fuga i l’estigma’ [‘ Escape and stigma trilogy’], which continues with ‘Estalactites’ [‘Stalactites’] (2003) and ‘Aire en Zel’ [‘Air in zeal’] (2005). This collection of songs moves from reflection to eroticism, from tenderness to nonconformity, from passion to loneliness.

He has performed these works, as he has got them recorded, in numerous places of the Balearic Islands, such as auditoriums like Sa Màniga, Palmanova or Sa Nostra, as well as emblematic places like Parc de la Mar de Palma (in the ‘20th Mediterranean Song Festival’), Líthica or Sant Francesc’s cloister. His lucid and sensual poetry has also arrived to several stages of Barcelona (Espai Escènic Tísner, Sala Bikini, La Sedeta, The Quiet Man, Espai Mallorca...). In 2007 he was selected by the Spanish Interpreters Association (AIE) to play around Spain (Madrid, Aragón, Galicia...). He has been awarded in local and national festivals, and his songs appear in different compilated albums.

This year he has recorded his fourth album, ‘Ferida i conjur’ [‘Wound and spell’].
